If all European cities met the levels of particles below 2.5 microns (PM2.5) recommended by the World Health Organization, more than 51,000 premature deaths could be prevented each year from respiratory complications caused by environmental pollution. . And if they did the same with the presence of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in the air, more than 900 deaths would be avoided.

Madrid is the city that leads this ranking followed by Antwerp in Belgium, Turin in Italy, Paris, Barcelona and the seventh position is occupied by Mollet del Vallès, a town in the metropolitan area of ​​Barcelona with high levels of environmental pollution.
